On the road again...

We got back home from Guadalajara on Tuesday night. I will give a quick summary of our travel day. We got a taxi to take us to the bus stop at about 8 am (6:00am B.C. time). We were on a bus from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta from 9am until about 1:30pm. We got another taxi to take us to the Puerto Vallarta Airport. We may have gotten ripped of on the price but at this point we just wanted to get back to Canada and we're unconcerned about paying a few extra pesos. We ate lunch, played spider solitaire, read and wandered around, killing about 4 hours in the PV airport. We flew from Puerto Vallarta to Phoenix. We spent a good hour in a customs line-up before entering the Phoenix Airport. We speed walked to our terminal and made it just in time to board our flight to Vancouver (and consume some BK fries)...thank goodness. We arrived in Vancouver greeted by our wonderful BC parents. They drove us the 45 minutes from Vancouver to Langley, arriving at the Rennert house at a little after midnight (after 2am Guadalajara time). Needless to say it was a long day and we crashed hard on the air bed. Home sweet home...at least until morning.

Then Wednesday morning hit. We had to switch gears fast. The day started with our '93 Toyota Tercel deciding it didn't want to start, after a month of sitting on the street. So we drove Allison's car to the Sky Train station and headed into Vancouver. We had to go to the Korean Consulate to apply for our work visas, which we are hoping to have in hand by the end of next week. In under a month we are planning to be in South Korea starting our orientation. On our way home from Vancouver, we got a flat tire on the car and pulled into the nearest parking lot. It happened to be the Liquor Store parking lot in the Whalley area of Surrey. We put on the spare tire, got the other tire fixed and made it home...tired, but home.

Yesterday we decided what our plans for going out to Saskatchewan would look like and we are leaving...tomorrow morning at 6:30...for two weeks. We have decided to fly instead of drive to maximize our time there and because let's face it, right now the idea of driving 17+ hours is less than exciting. We are excited to spend some time with our wonderful parents, siblings, nephew and nieces in Saskatchewan. We will be continuing to live out of a suitcase for at least another month or so and traveling a fair amount as well. Mostly this gets us excited, sometimes it makes us feel tired, once in a while we think we are crazy...
