Karmen and Greg go to Yangjae Citizen's Forest

A couple of weeks ago, Karmen and I decided to visit a place that we had passed many times on the bus, but never ventured into: Yangjae Citizen's Forest. The word 'forest' is a little misleading and we felt like there was a lack of trees. But I guess a forest from a Canadian perspective is different from that of a Korean.

We enjoyed the 30 minute walk through the trees. We saw a beautiful garden, an outdoor wedding chapel, many brides and grooms and a group of young Koreans doing a pastime referred to as Cosplay (costume play). This is where people with similar interests get together and dress up as their favorite Japanese animation characters. We found it interesting and funny to observe.

After walking around, we found an open resting area and laid down our brand new E-mart picnic mat and relaxed. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

Relaxing!

Cosplay...

Two tree stumps we found that were carved into faces.
