Greg and Karmen Take a Tour of their Hood

I wouldn't really call our neighborhood a "hood" by any means. We live on the outskirts of Seoul in a city called Uiwang. Last Saturday, we took a few minutes to walk around our area and take a few pictures. It's quite a bit different than our old home in Abbotsford!

This picture is of the outside of our building. We live above a mechanic shop.

Here's our street. Cars park on one side of the road (illegally) and on the sidewalk (to avoid the tickets that come from parking on the street), which makes things interesting in the morning when you have cars coming from both directions.

This is the outside of our temporary school, which is literally a two minute walk from our doorstep. We share the hallway with a restaurant that specializes in kimchi, a Korean favorite. Right next to it is the new school. We are moving in on Saturday! With five extra floors of space, we will no longer have to share class space.

Just down the street from us is a park and a walking path that goes along a little creek.

We go for walks here often. Wildflowers have started blooming. So beautiful.

The weather is finally cooling down. It's great!

Down the street in the other direction is the bus stop and this great view of the mountains.

Around the corner is a small grocery store and our favorite hangout, a little coffee shop that sells yogurt smoothies and hot chocolate (which we are enjoying as I am typing this!).
Yay for Yoger Presso!
