This past weekend, Korea celebrated the Lunar New Year, commonly called "Chinese New Year". Greg and I decided that it would fun to head to Beijing, China for the long weekend. New Year celebrations last fifteen days in China and we were there for the start of it. The firework displays were unreal. People were lighting them off on every street corner starting when the sun went down on Saturday until late into the night. The explosions were so frequent and close, it sounded like the city was under attack!
Beijing, while maybe not one of the most beautiful cities I've been to, is certainly one of the most interesting and culturally rich. We could have easily spent a full week exploring. We only got one extra day off from work, but we fit in as many sights as we could: Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, the Sacred Way, the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.
