A few days after Christmas, we hopped on a plane to the Philippines to spend a week in the sun and visit our good friends, Darnell and Christina Barkman and their kids. We met the Barkmans about a year and a half ago at church through our small group. They left Canada seven months ago to live and minister in Manila with Mennonite Church Canada.
