Emmanuel Mennonite

Emmanuel Mennonite Church was our home church during our year in Canada before coming to South Korea. We really enjoyed the community we found in that church. Right from our first Sunday, we felt welcomed there. People noticed that we were new and went out of their way to make us feel important!

Throughout that year, we were continually blessed and encouraged by the people in this church. It was fun going to church on Sundays, when we knew we would see familiar faces and people who genuinely cared about us. We were invited into people's homes that we were just starting to get to know. We met regularly and shared life with an older, wiser couple from the church. We joined a small group that quickly became the highlight of our week and something we always looked forward to.

During our time in Korea, we have been blessed on several occasions by encouraging emails, facebook notes and care packages. Most recently, we received a care package from the entire church! Usually, when we get a care package, we are told about it in advance so we can be on the lookout for it. However, this package caught us completely by surprise. It was such an encouragement and I must confess, our mail gets shipped to the school we work at and we couldn't even wait till we got home to open it. We opened the box and  read each card right then and there.

All that to say, we are humbled by and very appreciative of our home church in Abbotsford. Thanks for your prayers and friendship!
The collage of cards we received! There were also many tasty treats...unfortunately
most of those disappeared before a photo was taken.
